Oh hey, they got that back panel sunk on. Sweet.
Picture
The final pieces fell into place quietly while the wenderZ and I were at work (not literally quiet, cause ya know...ken hah). There were quite a few vacations starting, people leaving, and the threat of rain. Thanks for doing this guys! I may even have a video to post later.

And that's it. A completed house structure!
Picture
Time to cover it back up for now. Well we now have a basic structure. There is still lots to do. Plenty of seams to finish nailing, caulking the seams, framing the windows and door, house wrap...damn, I'm tired already. Tired, but super excited!

Picture
Starting with some wheel well cuts today.
Picture
Hey yo!
Picture
We also attempted to get the rest of the roof panels up. If you're considering using 2x6s and ladders as a lever...don't. It was terrifying and there is a damn good reason there are 0 pictures of that process.
Picture
So instead we put up the bedroom/living area walls.

Oh hey, Mitch! This is gonna be so much better than that 2x6 thing!
Picture
He just likes being on the roof...

I have to say, if you don't have a forklift or a lot of people, this definitely works.

Prepping the last tiny wall panels
Picture
Yeah handy grampa #1, holding walls and a beer
Picture
This panel needs a trim
Picture
Little dog and fat dog actually not yapping for a change
Picture
Last wall panel!
Picture
Picture
We had to slide this one in from the end.
Picture
Which worked well enough, but we couldn't get it to fall in. Time to wrap up for the night.
Picture
Everyone hop out!
Picture
Picture
Dude, what was that sound?!
Picture
Shit yo, we're gonna need a couple more cinder blocks...solid ones.
Picture
It's been a crazy few days. We are almost finished with the structure. We've had fantastic help and we can't possibly thank you guys enough!!! to be continued...

I totally get my anxiety from my mother. She was up walking at sunrise because she couldn't sleep. Big day ahead :)

JUDE and the wenderZ finishing prep work on the splines

ridiculous face pic! I think JUDE wins this round...
Picture
Ok time to get moving
Picture
We had to cut the first panel because we decided to bring the walls in just a tad because of the width of the welded on iron beams. Cutting a panel also means burning back the foam to the correct depth. Note: burning foam smells awful and we figure the fumes probably aren't fantastic for your health. Also, the tool gets and stays ridiculously hot, watch your extremities and clothes.

Picture
So here we are, officially putting up wall #1. Certainly a learning experience.
Picture
Little bit of trouble getting it to fall just right on that first 2x4 on the floor.
Picture
Just holding up a wall like a bunch of bosses.
Picture
Hey there uncle joey :D
Picture
Getting the first panel onto our bottom 2x4.
Picture
The next two panels went on quite easily. So easily in fact that there aren't any pictures (or none that I have. By all means send me what you have if you haven't already). Preparing the first roof panel. This would be the smallest roof panel, and it would never be this simple again!
Picture
duo of kims marking our electrical chases (aka "wire tunnels")
Picture
There weren't ever enough tape measures. Lots of measuring
Picture
Where are we putting this one, ken?
Picture
The observers/photographers
Picture
And we got one full sized roof panel up before breaking for lunch. Woot woot. Beast mode.
Picture
Yeah! Time for noms! Thanks a bunch :D
Picture
I think there might have been water on the camera lens, but it's a nice effect, no? Accidental vignette haha

back to work

Getting ready to connect the next wall. Here come those wheel wells...
Picture
Oooh run for the hills; aunt Kristi has a hammer.
Picture
Picture
Wheel well cuts = more foam burning
Picture
Oh hey! A surrogate big brother. Nice hat :)
Picture
Let's um, get some roof panels up, cause it's definitely gonna rain soon...
Picture
We had a variety of different sized helpers
Picture
ok , roof panels aren't going to move. Let's get this tarped up for today

Wendy and I were super excited the night before building day. We got as much done as we could in preparation. Here's the wenderZ drilling holes into the splines to connect electrical chases through wall panels.
